Jim is from Huntsville, Alabama and went to Washington DC as a college student.  There, he met Diana, who was from West Virginia.  They met and were married at Metropolitan Baptist Church on Capitol Hill.

They raised their family of 3 daughters and 1 son in the suburb of Woodbridge, Virginia, moving to Fredericksburg, VA as Jim neared retirement.

In May 1998, Diana was diagnosed with  a rare blood disorder, Aplastic Anemia, and she went home to be with our Heavenly Father on September 30th.  After her death, funds from part of her estate and contributions from friends were used to establish a Memorial Fund for Missions at Salem Baptist Church. Since Diana had been involved and supported missions throughout her life, this fund in her memory will help young people become involved in missions projects and missions education.

God has been good.  After Diana died, Jim traveled to all parts of the country to visit friends and family.  He also was able to travel to several foreign countries to visit Biblical places and tour new places.  He participates in mission projects, church activities and Gideon activities.

In June 2002, he married Shirley who was also involved in missions and ministry as the director of the Hope House, a shelter for women and their families.  She was also widowed and has two grown children, David and Robin.

Toni and Susie are missionaries, Penny teaches high school (another sort of mission field) and Jeff is a driving instructor and is in the Army Reserves.

Now, for the topic Jim REALLY likes: Grandchildren!

When sorrow comes to a family, God continues to provide.  Four years after Diana passed in 1998, God placed a wonderful Christian widow in our family's  life.  Jim and Shirley were wed in June 2002.
